What is wakesurfing?
Wakesurfing is like surfing’s younger cousin. Born relatively recently, a bit more modern, and relies on tech. It was also quick to establish its own unique, similarly beautiful identity.
Wakesurfing relies on the relationship between a motorboat and the ocean, sea, lake or whatever body of water the activity is taking place in. The boat teases a wave out of the water and the rider’s skill lies in trying to catch that wave and then enjoy it.
The rider holds onto a rope behind an inboard- engine boat until they catch the speed of the wave to be able to let go.

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
Wakesurfing was picked up in the UAE more than a decade ago with a few clubs introducing it around Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Today, the sport has gained a lot of traction with new clubs quickly opening up across the UAE.
The first CWSA (Competitive Wake Surf Association) wakesurfing competition was held in November 2019, bringing together riders from all over the world.
The sport continues to attract different enthusiasts due to the availability of the best boats and some of the best locations in the region.
The UAE now attracts several European wake surfing camps in the cooler temperatures of the year.
We’ve listed below some of the clubs where you can enjoy wakesurfing in the UAE, or simply have fun picking up a new skill. Yalla get to it and catch the wave!
WAKE WATER COOLED

Located in the JA resort in Jebel Ali. They have access to one of the unique spots in Dubai that is mostly flat & quite. Offers wake surfing & wake boarding.

Located in Dubai Marina next to the Marina Gate building. The spot is next to the famous Duai Eye landmark They have 3 new boats and offer wakesurfing & wakeboarding.
SEARIDERS

Located in Dubai Marine Resort as well as Dubai Marina (next to address hotel).They mainly use Malibu & Axis Boats. They offer, wake-surfing, wake boarding as well as foiling.
JALBOOT

First water sports center in the Heart of Abu Dhabi. They have the newest Master Craft NXT 22 and offer wakesurfing, wake boarding, boat tours around reem island, SUP & Kayaking.
XTREME WAKE

The club has 2 locations in Ghantoot, Abu Dhabi & in Dubai Marina. They are mainly famous for wake boarding in al Ghantoot area.

Operating in Anatra hotel in Abu Dhabi, they offer wakesurfing & wake boarding. They operate a Tige & Malibu Boat.
